It's getting cold out there...
My fur is very short and I get cold very easily. During the winter months I curl up to keep warm. At night I sneak under the covers of my parents' bed.
What do you guys do to keep warm?

Happy Holidays!
I know this movie was made last year...but the great thing about the holiday season is recycling. Re-posting old videos is akin to pulling out old Christmas decorations from your garage or basement.

Home Shopping TV Star
A few weeks ago my mommy became addicted to this channel called Gems TV. People in fancy clothes sit at a desk all day long and talk about jewelry. It's very boring. Daddy - being his cynical self - refers to this network as one of the many opiates of the masses.
Yesterday she bought an aquamarine ring from a TV presenter who was wearing antlers. This reminded her of my recent antler photo, so she emailed the Gems TV folks the picture. Within literally two minutes of sending the email they splashed my photo on live TV and read my mommy's email!
I would have preferred to make my television debut on Animal Planet or Fox Soccer Channel, but this will do...

Three Years Old
Today is my third birthday. Here I am in a reflective mood staring at myself in the mirror. Daddy says I do this a lot. He thinks it is really funny. I swear, I'm not vain. I just enjoy seeing things in reverse.
P.S. Thanks for the birthday wishes, everyone!

A Dog's Life
This weekend I got a long deserved bath. I hadn't had one since before the wildfires. Daddy said I was very dirty - probably all that ash from the fires was caked in my coat. Now I'm nice and shiny. Here I am on my parents' bed after my bath...
Here I am giving my Daddy a kiss to thank him for my wonderful bath.

Southern California Fire Update
I'm here reporting on the fires raging throughout Southern California. On Sunday night the Irvine-Santiago fire was about three miles from my house. It has since moved east back into the hills, but the air is very dirty and there is ash everywhere!
Please keep all the animals in your thoughts and prayers as many families have been forced to evacuate their homes. The Humane Society has more info - they are accepting donations which will go toward helping animals affected by this disaster.

What I've Been Up To
Hi, everyone! Sorry for not posting in such a long time. My parents and I have been really busy. I've been spending a lot of time with Max. He has so much energy that it wears me out!!! Next month I turn three years old - I forgot what it's like to be a puppy!
After a long day playing in the park Max crashed in his mom's arms...
Here I am at home snuggled up in my parents' laundry.
I prefer sleeping on a bed without scattered clothes.
Make sure to check out my new video in the post below...

Labor Day
Sorry guys, I haven't written in a while. I've been trying to keep cool during these dog days of summer. Last weekend I was able to play with my new uncle Max (the cute black pug who lives with my grandparents). He is quite brave for a little pup. Here we are playing hide-under-the-coffee-table.

Maximus the Black Pug
Hey, everyone...meet my new uncle Maximus!
He's just a baby - but he's already got a blog. He's a very friendly puppy. He is very eager to play with me. He squirms in his mommy's arms and wants to be put on the ground when I'm around.
The other day he enjoyed watching me run in my grandparents' backyard. When he gets a little bigger I can't wait to play with him! He's got so much energy he just might give me a run for my money (and you know how energetic Boxers are!).

It's Blogging Like Cats and Dogs
Hi, fellow dog bloggers! Did you know there's an entire world beyond our canine section of the tubes, I mean internets, no I mean blogosphere, or whatever the kids are calling it these days. I was recently exposed to this world when a fancy feline named Marilyn Monreow made me her NOMSSF (Not-Of-My-Species Special Friend).
Now, I've never visited cat blogs before - actually I've never even met a cat! I've only seen them on TV and in movies (the Harry Potter films come to mind). But Marilyn seems like a cuddly kitty - and a cool one at that. So before you freak out Peter Venkman style about the possibilities of interspecies electronic communication, go check out Marilyn's blog and say "hello".

Rocky, 1995-2007
My pal Rocky passed away yesterday. He was three months shy of turning 12 years old.
He was a good little pug who lived with my grandparents. When they got Rocky my daddy was in high school and still living with my grandparents. He helped raise Rocky as wee puppy and they were good buddies. Several years later my daddy moved out of their house. When he got married to mommy I was born, and they brought me into their new home.
I’ve always enjoyed visiting the grandparents’ house and getting to see Rocky. He was always nice and friendly to me. Occasionally he would romp around the house with me but most of the time he would sit and watch me play. In his later years he slowed down and his joints were too stiff to run. We used to cuddle together on the couch.
My grandparents and Rocky just returned from a vacation in Carmel, California when Rocky got really sick. After several tests it turns out he had cancer and there was nothing the doctors could do. My daddy was there yesterday when Rocky went to sleep.
My grandparents were feeling sad and lonely yesterday evening so I went to stay with them a few days. Hopefully I can cheer them up a little. Last night I searched every nook and cranny of the house but I couldn’t find Rocky. That’s when they told me he had gone to Rainbow Bridge. Someday I’ll see him again – and he will be young and full of energy, eager to run and play together.

I Love Car Rides
Last week my daddy took me to the drive-thru for the first time.
It was fun. A magical voice from a multicolored poster took our order. We then drove further and a nice lady gave presented us with a paper bag filled with yummy smelling food.
My daddy ordered a burrito at Del Taco - but I would have preferred going to Jack in the Box instead.

Throw the Book at Michael Vick
Above: a screenshot from Michael Vick's Wikipedia page, 7/19/07
When the Atlanta Falcons lose their first game in the upcoming 2007 season quarterback Michael Vick should be sprayed down with water and then electrocuted. After all, that's what he did to dogs that didn't "perform well". Why not give Vick the same treatment? Ok - if you don't like fantasizing about violent acts of retribution you could at least sign a petition urging the NFL to suspend the bloodthirsty monster.

Delicious Stuffed Toys
My mom bought me all these cool stuffed toys on sale at Pet Edge. I've already destroyed all of them. But here's a video of me enjoying my stuffed giraffe...
The footage is from last week when the UC Irvine baseball team was still in the College World Series (hence the UCI talk at the end). Unfortunately they were eliminated by the reigning champs Oregon State.

What I've Been Up To...
I've been spending a lot of time at my grandparents' house lately. Mom and Dad said I couldn't stay home alone because people are doing work in the backyard. Something about gutter cleanings and termite inspections...
At my grandparents' house I am really spoiled. They let me eat lots of yogurt.
Then they dress me up as Bulgarian peasant.
Rocky and I chill out on their fancy couch.
After a long day of eating and playing we crash together.
I promise to have more videos up soon!

Time for a Book Review
Daddy has so many yummy books lying around the house.
Today I decided to give one a try.
A few bites and it didn't taste that good.
Probably 'cos it was about the Yankees - what an overpriced, overhyped team!
When Daddy came home he explained to me that the book is not actually about the Major League Baseball team - it is a history of American business in post-revolutionary Mexico. He said he didn't care that I tasted it because he already read it.

how to make a caipirinha
There's no better way to start the weekend than with a caipirinha. My parents first encountered this sweet and sour drink in Brasil three years ago. My dad puts it up there with a Manhattan as his favorite drink.
It's quite tasty and easy to make...
Start with one lime, cut in quarters (or eighths if a large lime).
Add 2 tablespoons fine sugar and mash with a wooden pestle.
Now it's time to add your alcohol. Throw in about 2 oz. of cachaça.
Add crushed ice, stir and enjoy!
Yuck - I don't like limes. I prefer beer!

Sunday at the Harbor
Yesterday my grandparents took me on a special visit to Dana Point Harbor.
Here I am waiting for my 100-ft. yacht to arrive...
My uncle Rocky came for the walk, so did my crazy cousin Luca the Chihuahua. I have to wear this "gentle lead" harness or else Luca freaks out and makes satanic duck quacking noises.
We all had a great time!
How was your weekend? Do anything exciting?
