Did I Have A Fun Day or What!

When my parents leave for work in the morning they always put a gate in front of our stairway. I stay downstairs and have a doggie door to enter the backyard. The upstairs of the house is off limits while I'm home alone. My parents don't trust me to be alone up there.

Today, when Mommy left the house she forgot to put the gate in front of the stairway. I had free reign throughout the entire house all day! When she returned home Mommy said it looked like some bachelors threw a wild party in our house. There were shoes, shirts and bras spread throughout different rooms of the house.

I obviously had a fantastic time! I jumped on my parents' bed and tore all the blankets to the ground. I thought about eating Daddy's soccer magazines but instead chewed up one of his shoes really good (he said he would have been really mad if I ate the magazines).

They aren't mad at me because they know it's their fault.

They're Back!

My parents are back from vacation. They spent ten days in Argentina. They visited glaciers in the Southern Andes/Patagonia, toured the capital city of Buenos Aires and spent a day in Uruguay. They showed me all of their pictures.

Here are some cute Argentinian perros that they encountered:

felipe the boxer

This is Felipe. My parents met him and his owner near the cemetary where Evita Peron is buried in Buenos Aires.

Pasadores

Most portenos (residents of Buenos Aires) live in apartments. Thus, their perros (dogs) don't have much room to run and play. So they hire dog walkers called pasadores to walk their dogs during the work day. Some pasadores walk up to 20 dogs at once--and they all get along just fine!

No perros!

One day my parents took a ferry across the bay from Buenos Aires to Uruguay.

The ferry boat did not allow dogs :-(

The humans are going away for a couple weeks and I will be staying with my grandma and grandpa. I'll tell you about all my adventures when I (and my parents) return home!

Five Weird Things About Me

Aug 06 020, originally uploaded by Cairo The Boxer.

The Dachsies tagged me with a meme called "Five Weird Things About Me".

The player of this game starts with "5 weird things/habits about yourself." Then you tag 5 friends and list their names. The furries who get tagged need to write on their blogs about their 5 weird things/habits, as well as state this rule clearly, then tag 5 more victims. Don't forget to leave your victim a comment that says "you're tagged!" in their comments and tell them to read your blog.

Here is my meme:

  1. When my parents give me a treat or a cookie, I bat it around like a hockey puck. I also love hiding them underneath the pillows of the couch. While I may not eat the treat right away, I keep it saved for a midnight snack.
  2. I hate water. But I'll jump into the bathtub if my parents have the tub filled with warm water and soapy bubbles. I like to be clean.
  3. Sometimes I am afraid to walk down the carpeted stairs and step on the wood floor. Because my nails are long I lose my footing on the wood floor and scatter around. Daddy calls it "Scooby Doo" and he laughs!
  4. During the winter I sleep at the foot of my parents bed underneath three layers of covers. Somehow I manage to breath through a sheet, blanket AND down comforter. In the summer I sleep on the floor because it is too hot.
  5. Even though I'm a spayed female, I like to hump my Mom or Dad's legs before I sleep. At first Daddy used to get mad at me, but now he just laughs when I do it, because I make a funny face.
Bonus weird fact about me: I am a dog and I have a blog!

I will tag Cassidy, Bella, Ellie, Delilah and Brody.

Sniff Sniff

By this time I was quite tired and out of breath. Cassidy was able to get close and sniff me while I lied down on the cool grass.

On Saturday morning I met Cassidy. She is ten weeks old, and quite spunky. I'll be posting pictures of our encounter soon, but here is a video for now...

There's A New Boxer In Town...

Go say hello to Cassidy. My mommy met Cassidy and her parents at Fashion Island. It turns out they live only a few blocks away from our house. Hopefully we'll get to play really soon. I can't wait to teach a baby Boxer some of my favorite tricks.

Summer Evening in the Park

Yesterday Mommy and Daddy walked me to our favorite park. You know, the one where Daddy chases the soccer ball around the field like a crazy person while I always manage to steal it from him.

While we were playing Mommy spotted the parents of my Boxer friend Ruger. They were playing baseball at the park but Ruger was not with them. Ruger's Dad walked back to their house to get my buddy and after a few minutes Ruger had arrived. We immediately joined together in the Boxer shuffle and displayed some depth-defying acrobatics. We soon grew tired and headed to the water fountain for a drink.

Ruger showed me how it was done.

He is a lot taller than me. I'm a mini-Boxer! I could barely reach the fountain.

That's me, the 45 lb Boxer runt. So they cupped the water in their hands and I was able to quench my thirst.
