I don't know if it's global warming or the radiation from the nuclear power plant forty miles south, but it is damn hot here in Southern California. We've taken extraordinary measures to stay cool.
The pool thing didn't work well--I'm afraid of water--so I stay inside all day with fans and air conditioning, and then I walk and play soccer with Daddy after sundown. Also, I've become highly skilled at catching flies in the house. I can stop a rogue fly with a quick Boxer judo chop!
Here I am waiting contently while my parents fix me a meal...
I got lucky--they gave me wet food by Nutro. I'm not a fan of the hard kibble.
And what better way to finish off a meal than with an ice cold beer...
Daddy lets me sniff it, that's all.
Hope you're staying cool.

mmmm beer. i like it too. so does allie the pitbull. she's ever learned to knock the bottles over.
I dunno about beer but it's lots cooler up here in North Pole so come on up!
Cairo, don't drink the beer! Linda told me just the other day that it will make you do embarrassing things, take up with guys you wouldn't be caught dead with before you drank the beer, and the next day you will have a headache and a bad reputation. Or maybe she is lying again like she did when she told me potato chips didn't taste good.
Big Wags,
Isabella
Cairo- I catch flies too! My mom objects to me trying to catch them too close to her. One time I nearly snapped her ear I was so eager to get the little devil.
It's hot here in NM. Mid 90's and no rain in site. I stay inside in the air conditioning as much as I can.
Cairo,
It sounds as hot there as it is here ... and then we have humidity to add to the mix. We are SO glad Mom leaves us in the house when she is at work. We don't know how outside dogs stand all this heat ... and it's still only JULY.
Roxie, Sammy & Andy
Heat wave here as well. Smokey and Ginger go outside to the bathroom - then come right back in. No ball throwing till after 7 pm - strictly enforced. Water's not high on anyone's list either - so that's a wash, I'm afraid. Neither of 'em even like to play in the sprinkler (and we have one that's a cow with a wiggly tail!).
My dad, Dusty Doggy, found a can of beer in the alley and held it in his mouth and turned his head up to drink it before anyone could stop him. He looked silly staggering home, but was okay after he had a nap. But he had us worried for a while.
Cario,
Boy, do we understand the heat thing!! Its been over 100 degrees everyday for the last 2 weeks!! NO MORE HEAT!!!
We feel your pain,
Charlie and Coco
